Teaching Courses

This year I am running some teaching courses in my newly completed straw bale studio (click here to see a photo). They will be aimed at all levels of ability for people who want to find out more about wildlife painting and illustration.

AN INTRODUCTION TO WILDLIFE PAINTING AND ILLUSTRATION

Drawing and painting wildlife under the guidance of a professional wildlife artist and illustrator.

APRIL   JUNE   JULY
Sat 10th - Sun 11th 10am - 4pm Sat 12th - Sun 13th 10am - 4pm Sat 17th - Sun 18th 10am - 4pm

The course will consist of two days' instruction and various drawing and painting techniques will be demonstrated and discussed with particular emphasis on those most suitable for field observation.

Students will be encouraged to approach the subject with open eyes and "draw what they see not what they think they see."

Beginners are most welcome as this is a relaxed and enjoyable two days designed to bring out the best of your artistic potential.

Please bring basic sketching and painting materials along with plenty of enthusiasm!

Course Timetable

The course will begin with an illustrated talk describing the history and development of wildlife painting with examples of many styles and media. This will be followed by a studio drawing session and field sketching in the afternoon.

Day two will build on this with "one on one" advice and instruction and the challenges of drawing living moving animals will be discussed – along with some solutions!

Booking Fees

The price of the course is £120.00 for the two days and includes morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.

There are three bed and breakfast places available at an extra charge of £30.00 per person per night.

Booking will be accepted on a first come first served basis and student numbers will be limited to a maximum of six.
